Are ghosts, exorcism & stuff like tht real?

my mom said ghosts are fake but my dad said "erica, when we die, our spirits have to go somewhere"...so im starting to believe in that..and like my boyfriend said its real cause hes had "family expieriences" with ghost. Hes muslim & hes like "yes its real!! Trust me love, just look up jin exorcism" & im kinda freaked out now
